The Kalipur beach is among the rare beaches in the world where four types of turtles – Olive Ridley, Leather Back, Hawksbill and Green Turtles – lay their eggs. It shows signs of volcanic black sand which give the beach an overall dull look compared to the postcard beaches of Andaman. Even then, it makes for an interesting stopover from Diglipur.
